Description
‘Continuum II’ is one of a series of bronze sculptural forms by John Mallett. They are an investigation of form, structure, negative space and surface.
The sculpture’s twisting band form is mounted on a jesmonite base. The patinaed surface in blue tones contrasts beautifully with the polished copper coloured edge.
About the Artist
John Mallett is a Norfolk based sculptor working primarily in metals, using a combination of traditional casting techniques and modern sculptural practices. These include at times 3d printing and computer design.
He began his career as an artist blacksmith and has developed his sculptural practice following studying at Norwich School of Art. His passion for the art is infectious and there is an honesty in the pieces he produces.
