Spring Exhibition

This Spring we are delighted to welcome new artists Patricia Mullin and Nicci Dedman, from 28th March to 30th May. Patricia is exhibiting works on paper from two recent collections ‘Folk Art’ and ‘Tales from the Table’. A former textile designer for Liberty & Co and later an illustrator, Patricia has returned to her first love of creating zingy, bright, colourful works in pastel, contrasted with using gouache to create paintings with a narrative element, with titles hinting at stories taking place beyond the frame.

Nicci Dedman creates incredible intricate sculpture from wire. Her passion for her craft is evident in the pieces she produces. She makes each piece individually by hand using steel wire mesh of various sizes. Some pieces have contrasting wire added to enhance detail where needed. The mesh is manipulated by hand to form a hollow shape of the subject, then attention is given to the anatomy and to the structure of the subject and/or pose. We are delighted to be showing a charming collection of dogs, birds and flowers.

We are also pleased to welcome back printmaker Diana Ashdown with her detailed linocuts and subtly coloured lino and solar prints. Diana experiments and devises innovative print techniques mainly with lino, exploring texture, line and intricate pattern. In the observed and imagined works that she creates, the subject matter reflects her interest in nature, landscape, garden and architectural settings.

All of this fabulous new work is accompanied by ongoing displays from gallery regulars featuring a fine selection of paintings, original prints, ceramics and sculpture.
