Oil on board 'Overy Marsh' by Pamela Noyes

This summer sees the 10th anniversary of Heather Green’s stewardship of Walsingham Gallery & Framing. To celebrate this momentous milestone we are holding an afternoon exhibition launch on Saturday 3rd August from 1 – 4pm. Party cakes & fizz will flow! The summer show features magnificent paintings in oils by renowned local artist Pamela Noyes, serene coastal scenes in oils by Bella Bigsby, atmospheric oil and mixed media landscape works by Nigel Skinner and expressive, vibrant coastal landscape paintings in acrylic by Mary Blue.

Oil on canvas 'Storm at Sea' by Pamela Noyes

Pamela Noyes is an artist living and working in Burnham Market, North Norfolk. She has had a long career in painting and has exhibited widely.  Now in her nineties, she still paints every day.  Her vibrant, expressive work in oils is created using mostly palette knife and hands, rarely a brush.

‘I was born to be a painter and have to paint every day.  If I have a day or so of lolling, I feel different and that something is missing.  Then I go into my studio, get things laid out and start painting, and I feel good’

Bella Bigsby is an artist based in Norfolk. She returned here recently after living and exhibiting her work in California. Bella is an artist working in oils on canvas. She combines tangible elements of the world around her with memories of landscape and home along with a love of the magical nature of myth and fairytale.

Mary Blue is an American artist living and working in North Norfolk. Her powerful painterly work weaves in visual poetry of written words in graphite with layers of jewel-toned colours to reveal the often overlooked and hidden forces of nature and the effects of time.

Nigel Skinner is a mixed media painter based in North Norfolk. His atmospheric, contemplative often landscape inspired work incorporates salvaged, recycled and found objects into heavily textured surfaces.

These recent works are small studies for a large piece of work in progress ‘Ghost Ship’

I am delighted to be celebrating my 10th Anniversary at the helm of Walsingham Gallery & Framing. It has been a busy few years! It is such a pleasure to exhibit the work of a number of fantastic local artists. Our exhibitions are a joy to curate and it is wonderful to work with such talent.

The framing business has grown beyond my wildest dreams, I became an award winning framer and we have completed bespoke framing for a huge variety of clients from galleries and museums to artists and individuals.

Huge thanks to friends, family, neighbours and dearly trusted staff for unwavering help and support, and of course to our wonderful clients for making it all possible.

Here’s to the next 10 years!
